About Pamukkale :

Pamukkale is a small town in the western part of Turkey known for the mineral-rich thermal waters flowing down white travertine terraces on a hillside.

It neighbors Hierapolis, an ancient Roman spa city founded in 190 B.C.

In the ruins, there are a well-preserved theater and a necropolis with sarcophagi that stretch for 2000 meters.

The Antique Pool is famous for its submerged Roman columns, the result of an earthquake.

Thanks to the fine white travertine and the historical value of the ancient city of Pamukkale, it was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1988.

 

There are many places to see once you arrive in Pamukkale area and you can have opportunity to visit all of these places

*The Historical Museum (the former Turkish baths),
*Antique pool of Cleopatra

We need to warn you that this small article won’t be enough to mention all of them but we will try our best just to give you an idea.

 

After getting from Marmaris to Pamukkale by us, you won’t be able to believe your eyes when you see the immense travertines streaming in front of you just like icebergs.

After this one minute of shock, you can take off your shoes and socks and finally begin to experience the relaxing feeling of those wonder of natures while walking on them…

(PS: Please keep in mind that it is not allowed to walk on the travertines with your shoes on in order not to harm their untainted beauty.)

After leaving travertines behind, you will see a small lake that is called “Antique Pool of Cleopatra”.

It is said that Cleopatra herself, who was the queen of Egypt loved swimming in this lake. Well, what if we tell you that you can also experience the cool water of this unique lake yourself?

 

You will also enjoy your free time during the tour around local bazaars of Pamukkale

You can find unique hand-made souvenirs for your beloved ones or yourself.

After your exploring walk between the narrow streets with the smell of history in Pamukkale, you can pop at a local cafe just to have a Turkish coffee (we believe this coffee takes away all your tiredness by the way!) or some other hot/cold drink as you wish and you can get back to exploring the area after this short break.

If you hear that your stomach starts rumbling, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants that are sprinkled around the area and offer you different menus from the great variety of Aegean Cuisine.

P.S: If you like mushrooms, here is an advice from us: Pamukkale is famous with the dish of mushrooms, don’t leave without trying at least one type of those dishes!)
